About Uncharted Music

Uncharted Music Magazine was founded by college student Sofia Lisena during her senior year as a graphic design student for her final project. Delving into the world of the New York City underground DIY music scene, she realized how many talented musicians and bands go unnoticed. In effort to get these bands and musicians more recognition and to connect music communities together to create bigger ones, Sofia has decided to continue this magazine with a second issue.

Now, as the second issue is released with the help of other artists and community members, such as writer Finn Wirbel and photographer Karen Larkin, joining the team, Uncharted Music explores a wide range of genres through its listicles and featured artists’ articles, aiming to spotlight artists' innovative new sounds. Entirely funded independently, uncharted music hopes to give artists and bands a chance to be seen.
